The RCfTA has supported a substantial overseas visitor program in its first triennium, and considers this to be a vital role it can play in the Australian astrophysics community. The visitor program has led to a number of fruitful collaborations involving RCfTA staff. It is a valuable means of exposing Research Centre staff and other Australian researchers to new ideas, and broadening their research outlook. Some visits by overseas scientists have been jointly funded by the RCfTA and the ATNF, and many of the visitors to the RCfTA spend part of their time in Australia at other institutions. The RCfTA also supports visits to Sydney by Australian-based scientists. Funding was provided for a total of 16 visitors in 1993.
