Investment For four decades, NASA has committed substantial investment to the exploration of Mars. Today, other countries are joining in this effort, in particular via ESA. Formerly active in space technology, Australia has maintained links through its involvement with the Deep Space Network for radio communications. Australia needs to find and maintain niche entries to retain and substantially increase credible and important involvement in space.
