Collaborations

The Fellows of the RCfTA collaborate extensively, and projects which directly involve both theory and observation are particularly encouraged. The RCfTA visitor program, discussed below, has led to several fruitful and ongoing collaborations.

The closest links to date outside Sydney University are with the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF), a division of the CSIRO. These links are facilitated by regular joint RCfTA-ATNF meetings, and by the ATNF's provision of an office at its Epping site for RCfTA staff. Members of the Research Centre are present at the ATNF on several days of the week.

Details of collaborations involving the RCfTA are given in Appendix B.

Links between the Research Centre and other institutions are also promoted through RCfTA organisation of, and participation in, workshops, seminars and research groups. These programs raise the profile of the RCfTA in the astrophysics community and provide a means for communication between researchers in different institutions. Research Centre involvement in these activities is detailed later in this report.
