When are workshops available?
Workshops are run all year, on demand, so just name your date and we will do our best to accommodate you. During Uni term time the labs are unavailable on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Also towards the middle of the year is a popular time, so book early to reserve the best date for your calendar. You can find a timetable of current bookings here.

Is there a minimum number of students I can bring?
No.
Can I bring my class for two workshops in a day?
Yes, we often run two workshops on a day - subject to availability of the labs. More than two workshops makes for a very long day.
How much do teachers pay?
There is no charge for teachers.
Can the teacher join a group?
Yes, you are welcome to observe and interact, but no answering questions! Though our demonstrators are fully trained in both the syllabus and safety information, it is the teachers responsibility for duty of care
Can I combine experiments from different workshops?
Yes, you can pick the experiments you want from the above list. Note that custom workshops of over 6 experiments will incur additional charges. Contact us to discuss your class's needs.
Do I need to provide worksheets?
No. Every student receives a copy of worksheets to assist with their learning. You can have the worksheets before or after the session by going to the HSC resources page. You will find student worksheets and teacher worksheets (with dotpoints covered and answers).

All the specific dotpoints that the HSC Physics Kickstart workshops can be found here.
Are any of the experiments suitable for assessment?
All of the workshops have experiments with quantitative analysis. Further, each workshop uses terminology and skills from the HSC syllabus. As well as links and examples from past HSC exams.

Can we get public transport to Kickstart?
Most school groups come on the train - it's a 10 minute walk from Redfern Station. Also many buses pass the University along Parramatta Rd or City Rd - the School of Physics is 5 minutes walk from these bus stops.
What careers do Physics graduates get?
