James (“Jim”) O’Connor joined Westpac (then Bank of New South Wales) in early 1978 as a graduate trainee, having completed a BA in Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University.

During his 27 years with Westpac, Jim has had a number of roles, from a teller in a Branch through to management positions in city branches. Over the past decade Jim has occupied a number of management roles in Head Office areas, including his current position as Project Leader of one of Westpac’s productivity and efficiency initiatives.

Jim has been a Trustee Director of Westpac’s Staff Superannuation Fund for the past 8 years, and is a member of the PC Reuse Advisory Panel for Workventures Australia Ltd.

Jim holds an MBA from IMI Geneva (now known as IMD, Lusanne) and an MCom from the University of NSW.
